Thank You 3-Day Weekend!

Back to work today after a wonderful 3-day weekend. Especially because I didn't realize I would have Monday (yesterday) off until halfway through last week. It was my first week back to work and I was already missing Emilia very much, so it really helped to have one extra day with her before coming back. And boy were we busy!

We had a big girls weekend because Jason was in Memphis for Jay's bachelor party. Friday night we didn't do much. We had a PJ party and watched 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop'. I wouldn't recommend renting it. I had high hopes that it would be funny, but sadly, I only chuckled once or twice. Emilia was so bored she fell asleep.

Oh! It was her first night sleep more than 5 hours though- that was glorious!! She slept 6 1/2 hours! I thanked God and then thanked her. (O:

It was nice to get some extra rest because we went yard saling with Grammy (Treasa) the next morning. There were several with cute baby girl clothes. I cleaned up at one- they had Old Navy and Children's Place jeans in perfect condition for 50cents a pair! I also found on of those warm, wooly carseat covers for this winter for $5! Jenga!

BUT...I think I have a problem. (haha). My name is Annie and I'm addicted to baby clothes. "Hi Annie"...yeah, it's pretty bad. So, I've decided no yard saling next weekend. Treasa's co-worker, Jenny (the one that gave us all the clothes last fall) is having another yard sale for her daughter's 6-9 & 9-12 month clothes on June 6th. She is giving Treasa and I a pre-sale (haha) on either the 4th or 5th. So, I've decided I don't need to make anymore purchases before then. I know she will have so many cute clothes and I will probably finish filling Emilia's closet for this fall/winter.

Anyway. That evening, after a short rest, we went to a Memorial Day BBQ at Kathy's house. It was fun. Emilia wowed everyone (a lot of people there had never met her). She started getting kind of crabby, so we went home. (I think she was crabby for 2 days because there were onions in the Mexican Chicken I ate at Treasa's...everyone keeps telling me it was the onions). Anyway, she's better now.

Sunday, we slept in. Another 6 1/2 hour night of sleep! Then, after I fed her, she slept for another 3!! I thanked her again and said 'You really love me, don't you!" She just smiled. Jason came home that afternoon and we went to Si Senor with his parents.

Monday was another long, eventful day! Emilia and I went shopping with my mom for new work clothes. She starts her new job on June 1st and needed new business casual clothes. My poor mother hates shopping and especially hates trying on clothes. But, we were very successful! She found more tops than she was expecting to and 4 new pairs of slacks. All before lunch! Woo hoo! Then, we did a little shopping for me. I wanted to find something cute and new for all the weddings we have this summer. The more I thought about it I realized I shouldn't get a dress because of the complications it posed for nursing...so, I found some cute black dressy capris and 2 different tops. I'm excited because I really feel like I look OK in these outfits. It's nice to have a little self confidence again. (O:

So now I'm back at work...I keep looking at Emilia's 1 day old picture that's taped to my monitor. I never knew I could love someone so much or miss someone so much. I can't wait until 5:00!

In HIS time

Well, it looks like we won't be leaving this area just yet. We got a call from the church we visited last week and they voted "No" to hiring Jason as a part-time associate pastor. This is a small time church where the whole congregation gets to vote on anything and everything. As it turns out, there were only 12 people at the service tonight- 5 of whom weren't even there last week when to meet us. Consequently, those 5 voted "No".

Jason seems to be handling it really well. I think he's starting to tell himself it won't work out, so he isn't disappointed if it doesn't. He told me tonight that he didn't really think it was the best fit anyway. He said he would have made it work, but it wasn't exactly right. We both agree that it's all in God's hands and in His timing.

Sorry this is short, but Emilia just woke up.

Lots to say

I'll start this post by apologizing for its length...I'm sure it's going to be a doozy- we've got almost 2 months worth of catching up to do! So, let's get started, shall we? (O:

April 7th, 2009, 5:03 a.m.- Emilia Grace Warren entered this world! She is most decidedly one of the biggest blessings in my life. Something about having another person be totally dependent on me in every way has really given my life new meaning. I loved my life before her, but I love these new parts of me that are starting to emerge.

This is my baby girl on the day she was born (she already looks SO different!)

We could tell right away that she was going to be intelligent- always deep in thought.
She enjoys napping as much as her daddy does!

This is the first time we got her to smile really big- it was so exciting!

Now, she is just a regular ham. This is her posing for a picture during her first bath in her tub!

As you can tell, we are having oodles of fun with our precious princess (and believe me, she IS a princess...and diva...and drama queen! haha.) Every day with her is exciting and different.

She is starting to follow objects with her eyes. Her 2 favorite things to watch are the orange animal on her crib mobile (it's the only one she follows with her eyes until she can't turn her head any further...then she just waits for it come back into eyesight!) and the hangy giraffe we attached to her car seat.

At her 1 month well baby visit, she weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 1/4 inches long. She is definitely a growing girl! She has already outgrown her Newborn clothes and has graduated into the 0-3 month clothes. She's a good eater and sleeps up to 5-6 hours at night (thank you Lord!)

The most exciting thing for me currently is her smiles. She started smiling a few weeks ago, and mostly it was gas. We counted them as real smiles anyway, of course! But now, I know she's smiling because she recognizes my voice and I love it! Just this morning, I was getting ready for work when I heard her start stirring in her pack 'n' play. I went in to get her so I could feed her and get her ready to go and as soon as I said "Good Morning", her whole face lit up! Talk about melting my heart! It was absolutely fantastic. (O:

In other news...Jason had a 'Meet and Greet' this past Sunday at a church in Decatur. His cousin Kelly's husband is the head pastor of the church and they are looking to hire a part-time associate pastor. This person's emphasis will be mostly on the youth group (getting them to come and keeping them around) and then helping Tyler with anything else. The position comes with a parsonage and all utilities paid. (Those are BIG pluses, since he would be making less than half of what he makes now...but, we also wouldn't have a house payment or any basic utility bills). Everyone we met at the church was very friendly and welcoming. We can really see ourselves being part of this church family, even though that means leaving our amazing church family we have now. I get start to get a little upset thinking about leaving the church I grew up in. I mean, I've been there for almost 17 years! But, we are truly seeking God's will for our lives and if this is it, I'm ready and willing! The church is going to vote on whether or not to hire Jason this coming Sunday!

With all this going on (and Jason still sending out other resumes in case this doesn't work out), we decided to put our house on the market. We had two showings right when we put it on, but it's been silent for almost a month and a half. So, our realtor is having an open house the first weekend of June. We are really praying that this will bring in some serious buyers. We shall see. It's all in God's hands!

Other than that, not much to say. Well, actually, it's probably more accurate to say there's TOO MUCH to say and I feel like this is long enough for now. I'll keep some of these thoughts for next time. Don't worry, it won't take another 2 months for my next post! (O:

Have a great day and stay classy San Diego!
